Tuition Rates

*Please Note: Notwithstanding any other provision of this or any other University publication, the University reserves the right to make changes in tuition, fees and other charges at any time such changes are deemed necessary by the University and the University System of Maryland Board of Regents. Although changes in tuition, fees and charges ordinarily will be announced in advance, the University reserves the right to make such changes without prior announcement.

Mandatory Student Services Fee

The University Mandatory Student Services fee is assessed one time for courses taken within each of the two six-week summer sessions. In addition to the per credit fee, undergraduate and graduate students are charged the University’s mandatory service fee at either the on-campus or the off-campus rate as follows:

On-campus Rate: Undergraduate and Graduate Students: $TBA

• The on-campus mandatory student services fee pays for summer support services including campus facilities use and maintenance, health services, campus-wide technology services, student registration services, recreation center, shuttle bus, libraries, police, computer labs, writing language labs, and disability support services.

Off-campus Rate: Undergraduate and Graduate Students: $TBA

• The off-campus mandatory student services fee is charged when students are registered for courses that do not require them to come to campus (e.g., internships, courses offered completely online). This fee pays for summer support services that include campus-wide technology services and student registration services.

Materials/Lab/Special Course Fee

Some departments charge an additional fee for specific classes, such as those with science or computer labs, photography labs, art supplies, or similar costs. Courses with special or additional fees should be noted in the Online Schedule of Classes.

Application Processing Fee for New Students (one-time only)

Record Adjustment Fee

$100.00

• For all adjustments to your student record that are received after the end of a specific Summer Term session in which you are registered. This includes all requests for registration and/or withdrawal.

Determination of Residency Status for Admission and Tuition

Residency determinations are made according to the Board of Regents Policy on Student Residency Classification.

Property Damage Charges:

Students will be charged for damage to property or equipment. Where responsibility for the damage can be fixed, the individual student will be billed for it; where responsibility cannot be fixed, the cost of repairing the damage will be pro-rated among the individuals involved.
