When to Pay

Bill payment due dates are determined by the date of a student’s initial registration. Drop/add activity after a student’s initial registration will not result in a new payment deadline. Please use the following policy to determine when Summer 2009 tuition and fees are due:

Registered Deadline
February 23-April 25 May 20

Tuition payment for registrations initiated on or after April 26 will be due in full according to the schedule listed below:

If registered for Session... Deadline
I (Section 01xx) June 1-July 10 May 29
I-A (Section 03xx) June 1-19 May 29
I-B (Section 05xx) June 22-July 10 June 19
II (Section 02xx) July 13-August 21 July 10
II-C (Section 04xx) July 13-31 July 10
II-D (Section 06xx) August 3-21 July 31

Upon registering, you incur a financial obligation to the University of Maryland. Billing reminders will be sent via e-mail. Each billing reminder will include a payment deadline. Failure to make payment by the deadline will result in a financial charge of 1.5% per month and may result in cancellation of your registration. It is your responsibility to update your contact information. Please click here to update your contact information.

If you are registered for more than one term, your tuition payment will be due in full according to the deadline established for the earlier term. For example, if you are registered for Session I-A and II, your tuition for both terms is due in full by May 29.

If you initially register for courses during a schedule adjustment period, your tuition payment for all terms/courses is due in full within 24 hours. This includes the current as well as subsequent semesters. For example, if you are registering for Session I and II during the schedule adjustment period for Session I, your payment for both terms is due within 24 hours.

Summer Financial Aid

In general, summer financial aid is limited. Students must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program of study at the University of Maryland and must register for at least six credits or 24 graduate units to be considered for summer aid. Summer financial aid is not available for visiting students. A visiting student’s home institution, however, may provide financial aid for students who attend Summer Term at Maryland.

For more information or assistance, please click here to contact the Office of Student Financial Aid.

If you are inquiring about financial aid for the Young Scholars Program, please click here.

Terp Payment Plan

Because of the condensed nature of Summer Term, the Terp Payment Plan is not available to pay for Summer Term tuition and fees.

If you have any questions about summer billing, please contact the Student Financial Service Center at billtalk@umd.edu or at 301-314-9000 or 888-313-2404.
