Withdrawal from the University
On or after the first day of classes, students who terminate their registration from all courses within a session in which they are registered must formally withdraw. This applies to all students regardless of the number of courses or credits for which they are registered. A notation of withdrawal (“W”) and the effective date will be posted to the student’s academic record. Tuition refunds are based on the effective withdrawal date. If you are only registered for one course within a session and choose to drop it after classes begin, this is considered a withdrawal from the University.
A withdrawal from all classes may be processed at any time between the first, but no later than the last day of classes. Students may submit withdrawal requests to the Office of the Registrar as follows:
In Person: Complete a withdrawal form at Student Services, Mitchell Building, 1st Floor.
Fax: 301-314-1282. Provide name, address, student identification number, statement of withdrawal, and signature.
