Cancellation

Cancellation of Program Enrollment

Students who enroll in Freshmen First and later decide not to attend must cancel. Failure to cancel will result in a financial obligation to the University even though the student does not attend class. Please refer to the Academic & Financial Calendar for specific dates.

Cancellation Deadlines

July 25 Last day to cancel registration for either the Residential Course Package or the Commuter Course Package with a 100% refund minus the $150 non-refundable confirmation deposit. After this date, there is no refund of the housing/meal/course and program activity portion of the Residential Course Package or Commuter Course Package fee.
August 1 Last day to cancel course registration with a refund of 100% of tuition and mandatory fees only. After this date, students may only withdraw and only the tuition and mandatory fee is refunded on a prorated basis.

Cancellation of Courses by the University of Maryland

The University reserves the right to cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment, or for other reasons that it deems valid. Appropriate refunds will be made. In the event of cancellation, we will make every effort to notify you in a timely manner to ensure that your decision whether to remain in the program and elect to enroll in another course is made with sufficient consideration.
